What were you going to do before we announced our surfing summer camp?

TV?  Video games?  Babysitters?  NO WAY!!

This summer Santa Cruz Surf School will be on the beach all day! We are introducing our new “beach and surf summer day camp.” Each camp will run from 11am until 3pm, Monday through Friday.  We'll provide lunch, surfboards, wetsuits and other assorted sports equipment for the camp.  If there's no surf, well be leading our summer campers through a variety of other beach sports activities.  It's a great way to have a fun, active summer while learning about the ocean, getting fit and getting waves!

Each of our camps will have a life guard who is certified in CPR and First Aid. The camps will include activities such as surfing, making lunch, exercising, learning about ecology and local history. The surf lessons will include learning ocean safety, surfing etiquette, reading waves, and stand up techniques.

Lunches are made of all Organic food and we will also provide purified water. Exercising will include paddling on the surfboards (tour of the Monterey bay sanctuary and Santa Cruz area), beach runs, sand contests and yoga. There will also be some time for fun and play. This will include supervised free time on the beach, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, beach games such as volleyball, tea ball, soccer, and horse shoes. We will tour the Long Marine Lab to learn about ecology and the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum/Light house to learn about local history.

This camp provides fun and healthy activities out doors, in a educational environment. The Kids are guaranteed to have lots of physical activity and fun. We will also include video instruction, and at the end of camp each camper will receive a DVD video of themselves and their friends at Santa Cruz Surf School Summer Beach and Surf Camp.
